Living with back pain

So let us finally try to summarize: once you have got back pain for the first time, it most likely will stay just for a while, but come back later. If your back pain is not excruciating and chronic, probably the search for “causes” will turn into a futile quest. So you rather arrange with a simple truth: suffering from back pain proves that at least in one way you are part of the “normal majority.”

So the best thing you can do is being prepared. Find out in time what helps you best and keep it in stock - be that a bottle of essential oil, a pouch with kratom or a pack of NSAID’s.

Find a physiotherapist under whose hands you feel safe and don’t lose his or her number.

And when the day comes at which your back pain returns - don’t hesitate. Put on the heat packs, take your drugs, and call you physiotherapist. The sooner you react, the sooner the pain will go away and the lesser the likelihood that your back problems will escalate.

And finally there is at least one thing where scientific findings are very clear and univocal: resting in bed or brooding will not help against back pain. Never.
So don’t rest and don’t wait.
Act.
