About 90% of US citizens over the age of 30 are suffering from back pain at frequent intervals. So most likely there is no need to explain to you what back pain means: chances are that you have already experienced it. Back pain has to be considered as one of the costs we all have to pay for our modern and comfortable life style. Many of us spent the most part of their lives either sitting at a desk, or standing at a counter or some kind of assembly line - all of which are activities our bones and muscles are not really very well equipped for. We know that, we can feel that, and to compensate for that we do sports, fitness, aerobics and what not. But again our body was not designed for spending hours in wrong and unhealthy positions and then just suddenly switch to high performance mode. The consequences are almost invariably the same, and the first place we feel them is usually in our back. It hurts. In the beginning it is mostly just a little pinching, then come phases of moderate pain, and finally the day arrives when we find it difficult to fall asleep in the night or to get up in the morning: pain all over the back. Now most of us don’t like to spent time or money in consultation rooms, and we think that sooner or later the pain will stop any way. Well, usually it does - but comes back rather sooner than later. And more often than not it will not really help to buy a new mattress, new shoes which special soles or a patented “back pain pillow.” And this is why we have made this site for you: to give you a short and easily understandable source for what is happening in your back and what to do against it and when. |
